ReikiReiki (霊気 or レイキ?, English: /ˈreɪkiː:/) is a spiritual practice[1] developed in 1922 in Japan by Mikao Usui. Usui received the ability of giving "healing energy without energy depletion".[2] A portion of the practice, tenohira or palm healing, is used as a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).[3][4] Tenohira is a technique whereby practitioners are moving "healing energy" (a form of ki) through the palms to the body of the patient. This can be done over long distances by using the energy fields that connect us all. Reiki can be used to remove negative energy in the physical and etheric bodies and replace it with white or violet light healing energy. Reiki can also remove negative thought forms that can exist in the aura therefore allowing one to think in a more positive direction and change their path to be more in line with the divine life purpose.
